Haute Couture | Christophe Josse Fall 2013 Couture

The Urals inspired Christophe Josse to create discrete, ultrafeminine silhouettes. Drawing on the region’s rich folklore, the designer wrapped his Near Eastern princesses in either silk-fringe collar-scarves or lean, embroidered coats. A long, wool kaftan worn over a pair of Neoprene knickers had an effortlessly elegant air, while soft lamb leather was folded into a wrap dress boasting sleeves in the shape of Russian candy. The muted palette of powdered rose, bronze and ivory conjured a warm, wintery feel.

'As couturiers, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli found the idea of the Wunderkammer particularly appealing. "In a cabinet of curiosities, the pieces are very unique, very one-of-a-kind," Piccioli said. "We've tried to make something that is not only special, but also surprising, unexpected."'

L'Absolu Désir Collection by Lancôme

The archetype of Parisian beauty is red lips, a flawless complexion and perfectly painted nails. This classic code has inspired Lancôme's new L'Absolu Désir collection for Fall 2013, as seen in a new campaign starring Kate Winslet and shot by Mario Testino. Comprising deep red lipsticks, a pearlescent illuminating blush and three faux-black nail polishes with respective undertones of plum, brown and slate grey, the collection is elegantly branded with two iconic symbols of the City of Light - the famous Lancôme rose and the Eiffel Tower.

GUCCI F/W 2013/14 Ad-Campaign

GUCCI F/W 2013/14 - A harder, darker, more eroticized approach to fashion that, under the creative direction of a glowingly gorgeous Frida Giannini, involves the likes of high-necked python tees under curvaceous jackets; super-covered-up dresses that could have gone demure but decided bad was better; and a ton, and I mean a ton of leather: sometimes given a craquelure surface treatment, other times as gleaming ponyskin and richly colored astrakhan, all used for soft-shouldered, nip-waisted suits and coats whose shape was controlled by an intricacy of seams that ran around and over the body. To go with all this, accessories were kept strictly understated long snakeskin boots that hugged the legs, structured bags that carried no other adornment than their jet-black bamboo handles and archival luggage–lock fastenings.

"As it turns out, Giannini was thinking about another sexual provocateur for her collection Allen Jones, the 1960s British artist who took hard-core fetishism from behind closed doors to the gallery floor. If Jones’s work had a disturbing distance, encouraging a voyeuristic gaze, then Gucci was rather warmer, in no small part, it has to be said, because of the flashes of exuberance that Giannini brought to bear on the proceedings."

DIOR F/W 2013/14 RTW Ad-Campaign

With an assertive allure, looking directly into the lens, for artist Willy Vanderperre the Dior woman proudly shows off a style that's formed from the coming together of different eras. This season, it's a look of multiple inspirations, and yet definitively Dior. Whether a straight dress with an air of the 1920s, a Bar jacket inspired by the one by Christian Dior in 1947, or a reworking of the Arizona coat, the legendary creation from the couturier back in 1948, the silhouette of the collection weaves a link through the ages. The link also runs through with color: the red of passion, Dior red, acting as the common thread tying together the different shots. On the curved-heel shoes, on the Bar bag's New Look form, even down to the on-set furniture, shots of red appear, recalling the shared passion of Raf Simons and Christian Dior.

A magnetic look, enigmatic elegance, a decor at the crossroad of inspirations modernist and at the same time reinterpreting the gold moldings of the grand era of French splendor as seen through an Art Nouveau eye. With it, Willy Vanderperre has evoked a dreamlike and mysterious world around Raf Simons' collection. The models Daria Strokous, Mariacarla Boscono, Elise Crombez and Iselin Steiro are the embodiment of these Dior women with an aura like none other.
